The Royal Ocean Racing Club’s major Caribbean race, the Caribbean 600, will start its 15th edition Monday, February 19 at 1100 AST. A spectacular fleet of 64 boats, ranging from 32’ to 107’ are in Antigua getting ready for this “new classic” ocean race. Whereas many ocean races are largely point to point, the 600 starts and finishes off Antigua but along the way rounds almost a dozen of the Leeward Islands.

Of note, there are number of area boats in the fleet that you will want to follow on the Yellowbrick Tracker.

ARGO, Jason Carroll’s MOD 70 trimaran sails under the Larchmont and New York Yacht Club banners. This speedster will try to break its own overall elapsed time record of 1:05:48:45 set in 2022. That’s averaging around 20 knots for over a day. Talk about exciting sailing, and this won’t be a cakewalk for Carroll as there are two other MOD 70s in the race, ZOULOU and LIMOSA to keep Team ARGO on their toes.

Also sailing out of LYC is Peter McWhinnie’s JPK 1.80 IN THEORY. From further east in the Newport area will be Dan Litchfield’s classic Nielsen 59 HOUND and Peter and /David Askew’s Botin 52 WIZARD with Charlie Enright in command. And there’s also Bruce Chafee’s RP42 that is always in the mix.

Follow these and all the fleet on Yellowbrick and see other highlights on the RORC C-600 website.
