2011 Tartan 4000

Mamaroneck, New York

New pictures posted June 21st.

Offered for the first time by her original owner! The Tartan 4000 stands tall in a production sailboat market where one brand is becoming indistinguishable from the next. The Tartan is not an assemblage of molded plastic parts, but a "stick-built" construction that is made to carry your family safely and comfortably for a day sail, a coastal cruise or over the horizon.

This craftsmanship is evident in every corner of the boat. Her interior is simply radiant in satin cherry, with top-of-the-line components including stainless steel opening port lights and chrome or stainless light fixtures throughout.

Hull #3 has been used seasonally in the Northeast since her first launch in May of 2012, and stored out of the water under canvas cover each winter. Electric winches (primary and halyard), full electronics, and the Tartan Cruise Control Rig for fast, comfortable sailing in all conditions.

The listing broker has known this particular Tartan since her first launch in May of 2012 and can provide a prospective buyer with an accurate overview of her history and current above-average condition.

Detailed Inventory

Accommodations and Walk-through:

The interior of the Tartan 4000 is unmatched by any production sailboat today. The extensive use of satin varnish cherry woodwork, with stainless steel portlights, dimmable LED’s, and blue Ultrasuede upholstery give the boat a timeless appeal. The ample handholds and proper nav station make this an interior that is actually usable underway when heeled, not just a floating ballroom best kept tied to the dock.

Starting forward is the owners stateroom with island berth, storage in cedar-lined hanging locker and drawers, overhead hatches and portlights, private access to head, and dimmable LED lighting.

The head is next aft with upgraded Vacuflush MSD, storage for an extended cruise, and a separate enclosed stall shower.

The main salon has an open feel while still providing security offshore with numerous handholds. The leather-wrapped mast is all the way forward, allowing guests to converse across the folding salon table while seated at port/starboard settees. Port settee has a slide-out with insert cushion to provide an additional double berth. Light and ventilation are provided by stainless opening portlights, overhead hatches with screens, 12-volt fan and overhead/reading lights.

The galley will accommodate provisions for an extended cruise, with a deep double sink just off centerline, tall fiddles, large 12-volt refrigeration and a 3-burner propane stove/oven.

The nav desk is opposite to starboard, with plenty of room for a paper chart, plus unused space to add a chartplotter if the new owner desires. Storage in and under the nav desk, plus battery switching and 12 volt/120 volt distribution panels.

Aft to starboard is a generous guest cabin with full size berth, overhead hatch, opening portlight, fan and storage.

T-shaped cockpit with twin wheels, deep seat locker to port, deep lazarette aft to port (with mash bag for "drop in" convenience"), propane locker to starboard, and storage cubbys. Cockpit table in stainless and teak with fold-outs (never installed, in storage with boat yard).

Fold-out swim platform on centerline for easy access.

Broker Comments:

This is an easy boat to fall in love with, and it will quickly become evident why Cruising World magazine named the Tartan 4000 as "Best Mid-Sized Cruiser" upon her debut in 2011.
