Overview

The Pearson 424 is a ketch rig with a stoutly hand laid FRP hull and a modified full keel, which has a skeg supporting the rudder. The mast is keel stepped. She is a graceful boat from all angles and the design carries the beam well aft to allow for an exceptionally-sized cockpit.

Her interior offers teak and holly sole, teak bulkheads and trim throughout and 6’4” headroom. A unique aft owner’s cabin features a double berth to port, with the nav station and a large hanging locker to starboard. Forward of the owner’s cabin is an L-shaped galley to port with many lockers, drawers and an opening overhead hatch. The large head is amidships and features a shower stall. The forward cabin includes a dressing table with a vanity wash basin, changing seat, hanging locker and bureau. An additional companionway is located midships.

Her pedigree is without question. Bill Shaw, the designer, is well respected throughout the yachting industry. You will be pleasantly surprised by the overall performance in medium-light airs and heavier air. The sailing characteristics offer a good yacht to weather with stiff performance and sea kindly motion.
